All battery-system components are Victron Energy, ensuring a fully integrated VictronConnect ecosystem with Bluetooth monitoring across all devices. The only decision points are battery capacity (200Ah or 300Ah) and whether to add an Egon DC Hub for distribution.

Why an all-Victron ecosystem?
Every component communicates via VictronConnect (Bluetooth) — one app monitors the DC-DC charger, MPPT, battery monitor, shore charger, and BMS. Firmware updates, diagnostics, and configuration are unified. Victron has SA distribution, 5-year warranty, and a professional dealer network nationwide.

⚠ DC-DC and MPPT are separate units
The Victron ecosystem uses two dedicated components rather than one combined unit. This gives dedicated MPPT tracking, independent monitoring of each charge source, and higher combined charge capacity (30A DC-DC + 30A solar = 60A max). The trade-off is one additional mounting point.

The Victron Smart LiFePO4 is the most compact 12.8V LiFePO4 Victron offers. Both use Grade A prismatic cells with Bluetooth monitoring. Switching between 200Ah and 300Ah requires no changes to any other component.

Egon DC Hub — Optional Upgrade
The Egon DC Hub 2.1 replaces the Victron Lynx Distributor in Layer 7. Everything else stays identical. It adds more fused outputs, LED fault indicators, and screw-terminal simplicity — at a higher cost and a second monitoring app.

What the Egon replaces & what it doesn't include
Replaces the Victron Lynx Distributor only. Has no built-in DC-DC, no MPPT, no battery monitor. All Victron charging and monitoring components remain identical. The trade-off vs Lynx: ~R 4,600 more at mid-estimate, adds a second monitoring app, but gains 10 fused outputs with LED fault indicators and simpler screw-terminal wiring.
